ÖTILLÖ Race 2014 – Here We Come!
At Team Troubadour, we strongly believe in the saying that “life begins outside of your comfort zone.”
As millions of people around the world are finding out, endurance sports and races are a great way to challenge yourself.
As well as the positive side effects of fitness and sense of accomplishment, endurance races allow you to keep pushing yourself to the next level. There’s always another race out there that is more extreme than the one you’ve just completed.
In a few months, we’ll be taking part in one of the most challenging races of all.
The latest in innovative and extreme races, ÖTILLÖ, or “Island to island” in Swedish, is a unique swimrun race, ranked by CNN as one of the toughest endurance races in the world.
Between the hours of dawn and dusk, participants run 65km on off-road terrain, and swim 10km in rough seas, across 24 islands in the archipelago of Stockholm. That’s equivalent to 1.5 Ironman runs in a wetsuit and 2.5 Ironman swims in running shoes!
Although we’re no stranger to endurance races, the reality of the training we have ahead of us has kicked in. With only 5 months until the 75km endurance race, we need to step up our game, and we want you to follow us on our journey to ÖTILLÖ 2014.
Over the next couple of months, we will be sharing endurance training, nutrition, recovery and general training tips and stories with you, so stay tuned!
